Venice, Italy

Venice, Italy is a great place to visit. I have gone to Venice so many times. I feel that it is a place that so many people should visit. It is a place that many tourists visit. The last time I went to Venice was two years ago. It was my favorite vacation. I went with my parents, sisters, and sister's fiance. It was my sister's fiances first time to ever travel to Europe. He was amazed by the beauty and wonders that Venice has to offer.

Right when we landed, we had to take a boat to reach Venice because Venice is built on small islands on the water. The weather was extremely hot. There were so many Americans and I felt right at home. The boat ride was a great adventure because we saw so many buildings and houses on water. There were also gondolas passing by our boat.

When the boat ride was over, we were amazed by the beautiful hotels and scenery. Our hotel that we stayed at was gorgeous. I remember the chandeliers right when we walked in the hallway. The rooms each had a beautiful balcony. It was luxury. Right after we relaxed in our rooms, we went sight seeing. My favorite place that we visited was definitely San Marco Square. There were so many birds flying around. I remember being scared that a bird would fly on my head. It almost happened. I even gave the birds some bread.

The most famous places to go in Venice are: Canal Grande, Basilica di San Marco, the island of Murano, and Ponte dei Sospiri. In addition to the attractions, there are so many shops. I remember going to a souvenir shop to buy a watch that said Murano on it. It seemed to me that most of the shops sold the same things. I recommend browsing each shop before buying it so that you do not buy a more expensive product.
We took a trip to the island of Murano where we saw the beautiful art of glass. We saw the way the workers transformed a piece of glass in beautiful piece of art such as chandeliers, vases, etc. I recommend to visit the island of Murano and buy one of these art pieces. In addition, I highly encourage any family to take a tour to Venice because there is no other city like this in the world.

Ostigliano, Italy

My parents grew up in Ostigliano, Italy, which is three hours away from Rome, Italy. They were next door neighbors in a small town with about 500 people. My father's family moved to the States when he was eleven. He came back to Italy to go to medical school. That is when he married my mom and they moved back to the States. He went to residency school in New Jersey. My mother went to college in Italy to receive her bachelors in English Education. My mom had to leave her whole family and start a new life in the United States. My dad started working in New Jersey and eventually became hired in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. He opened up his own pediatric practice. My parents had three girls.

Ever since I was born, I remember going to Italy to visit my mom and dad's family. I have been traveling to Europe for so many years. I started traveling at three years old. It is amazing of how many times I have traveled outside of the United States. Right when I arrived in Italy when I was younger, I was amazed by the beauty and different culture that the people offered. Italy has so much to offer to people. It has great food including pasta, fish, bread, mozzarella, and pizza. The Italian shops are amazing, the weather is mostly sunny during the summer, and the beaches are crystal blue. The water is about 70 degrees or higher that enables everyone to enjoy the water without hesitation. It is very different from the beaches in the United States because people can stand in the water without being blown away from a wave.

Me and my family go to Italy every summer to visit my mom's mom, my mother's relatives, and my father's relatives. Because I have been going for every summer since I was little, I feel that I have become more Italian, and I have learned so much from the people's culture and language. My mom's mom does not speak English so I was forced when I was younger to learn Italian. I am not fluent in Italian, but I understand everything. There are many adventures to undertake in a European vacation. My favorite places that I have been in Italy are Rome, Florence, Venice, the Amalfitana coast, and the islands of Capri and Ischia. These are islands that a family can travel by boat to reach. Families can enjoy many activities with one another including snorkeling, jet skiing, shopping, and touring. The shops in Italy are very expensive, but I highly recommend visiting tourist shops for souvenirs. Every summer that I went to Italy I bought a souvenir to remember the place that I visited. It is also beneficial to bargain shop in order to receive a lesser price.

I feel that Italy is a place that everyone should visit before they die because it is such a beautiful place for everyone to see. Italy is very expensive, and I highly recommend every family to save up to experience an amazing vacation. It is a place that everyone is so friendly with one another, and no one has to know Italian to communicate because most of the Italians in Italy know English.

Rome, Italy

Rome, Italy is a gorgeous place for anyone to experience. It is a beautiful city that could take up to a week or two to see the whole town. It may appear small, but it actually has a lot to offer including the Spanish Steps, the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia, the Vatican Museums, Palazzo Venezia, St. Peter's Basilica, St. Peter's Square, Vatican Museum, and Vatican Gardens. The best time to travel to Rome is during the summer when the weather is hot. Rome also has the most amazing ice cream flavors including nocciola, bacio, stracciatella, and so many others. I remember when me and my family went the first time to Rome when I was little. I fell in love with the ice cream flavor of nocciola. I recommend this for anyone that goes to Rome. It is a hazzlenut ice cream that tastes very good.

My family and I go to Rome every summer. I remember one summer that we went to Rome for a week with my parents and sisters. Right when I arrived in Rome, I was amazed by the buildings and streets. The streets consist of pebbles. It is very hard to walk on these streets, but it is crazy of how much work it must have taken for people to construct the roads. The first place that me and my family went to visit was the Spanish Steps. Before I climbed the steps, I told my parents that I did not think I could make it because there were too many. As I climbed one step at a time with my sisters out of breath, I realized the hard work that took to make so many steps. Right when I got to the top, I looked down below and saw a beautiful view and was so happy that I made it to the top. Rome made me realize that there is so much beauty in the world, and I am so grateful that my parents take me to Italy every summer to experience it. These trips have made me and my family become closer and to accept each other more. The trip of Rome consisted of touring early in the morning, having ice cream for dessert, and going to fancy restaurants.

On another day, we went to visit the Trevi Fountain. The Trevi Fountain was my favorite part of the trip. Before I went to the Trevi Fountain, I always imagined my self seeing it because of movies that I have seen. It was definitely different seeing it in person instead of on television. The sculptures and buildings were beautiful. When I arrived in front of the trevi fountain with my sisters, we each made wishes with a penny. We then had ice cream at San Crispino, my favorite ice cream destination.

The trip to Rome has made me learn so much about ancient Rome. It has made me realize that Rome has so much to offer and people really need to experience the beauty that it has to offer. I recommend a trip to Rome for everyone to experience it. Rome has so much historical background that I feel that most people should study and learn about. Seeing and learning about Roman cultures is better than studying from a textbook without experiencing the beauty of the city.
